- You know the "Favorite things" song from Sounds of Music? This is what one kid's version was: "When the HORSE barks/when the bee stings/when I'm feeling sad...."
- "RELAX, PLAYA!!!"
- When I really think a kid shouldn't do something, I set boundaries. My consequence is being dubbed "a hater."
And my fave:
- "You're a sad, strange little woman."

And it's only Monday...
I was more special today than I usually am. I tried to find the Social Services building as I drove for about 20 minutes, and actually found myself mistakenly roaming the halls of a city courthouse. Then, I accidentally went to a family's home when I was actually scheduled to be there the next day.
Damage done? 1 cancelled visit, 2 late visits, and $15 worth of gas.
The sweet part of my day, though, was having ice cream with a cute 4-year old girl who is learning how to ride her Dora tricycle.

Yes, I am a female driver.
A few years back, I was highly anticipating getting my driver license. I thought I would finally join a club where skilled and responsible people roamed the streets. When I finally joined the world of driving in December of 2007, I was shocked to discover that good drivers are special. If you are one of these, I appreciate you. My biggest triggers when it comes to driving: when people don't signal and when people brake instead of letting go of the gas pedal on the freeway. These things make it hard to walk in the Spirit, you know?!
I was also surprised by that fact that nobody on the freeway noticed I was a newcomer. Here I was propped up on my seat and smiling, hoping to get some drivers' eye contact. Nobody waved or smiled at me after passing me up. Nor did they give me a thumbs-up. I did see other fingers though. Yes, I must admit...I was an overly-cautious driver. I never wanted to go over 65 mph...and I'd hang out in the middle lane a lot. Yeah, that was me. I'm sorry. I've aspired to be one of the few and proud good drivers since realizing that it's not cool to do that.
Lately, I'm learning that there's so much more to knowing the gears/switches and how to parallel park. You have to know where you're going and how to get there. lol. If you struggle with this, I highly advise you get a GPS. Totally worth it. Other things--it's also helpful to know how to unlock your key from the ignition, how to maneuver your car off of a parking stopper, and what to do when you get a flat tire. Luckily, I've had Daddy to help me with all of the above. :)
I'm a female driver, but this makes me laugh. Watch this. Then again, studies have shown that men are 70% more likely to be in a serious car crash.
